Ah, I have this really bad habit of writing way more down to send home in the email than I can possibly type out. What is good writing? Lo siento.
I just want to tell you all that this week was amazing. Sorry that all you hear from me are non-descriptive adjectives. But that's the word. Amazing. I simply did not deserve the past 18 months that God has given me. We knocked into the COOLEST family this week. We also had another really cool experience:
Sister Jeppson and I were in the Plantation chapel (not our normal chapel) because we were having lunch/ waiting for a comp study from the DL and President Greenburg (President of the YSA branch) walked in and told us that there was a YSA preparing for a mission and she wanted to go out with sisters. Since she lives in Weston, we were the closest sisters and we got her contact info to be able to get her out with us. So we texted her and she was really excited to come but our schedules were not matching up to bring her out. Then she told us her friend was visiting her for the summer and she's not a member. She asked if we could go teach her instead. So we did!
Turns out that the YSA and her friend are both from Las Vegas...5 minutes from the temple....but the YSA just got baptised in March and her friend really wants to get baptized too! It was one of the most spiritual lessons of my entire mission and I am so excited for her to go back to Vegas this week and take the lessons over there! I feel like it was a moment God gifted to us and it was really cool.
Some funny moments from the week....my mom sent me a new debit card in the mail and said "It has a chip in it. :)" And I said "What is a chip and how am I supposed to use it?" Yeah, someone had to explain to me what a chip is this week. Then I was playing a game with a little girl in our ward here before dinner and it involved guessing characters in movies. Well, I didn't watch a whole lot of movies before my mission anyway, and I've been entirely out of the movie world for quite some time. She got really exasperated that I had to keep saying "I haven't seen that movie." and she put her hands on her hips and said "Really?! You haven't seen anything! What are you doing with your life?!" ...yep. I got told by a 4 year old. haha.
A scripture stood out to me this morning that I wanted to share in Mormon 1:15. Look it up. :) I love that Mormon writes the word "somewhat" because it is another testament that God doesn't wait for us to be perfect to step in and mold us! He begins to work with us the second we have the slightest desire for it. We don't need to try and tackle perfection right now. We just need to seek to follow God's guidance and be instruments in His hands and we will be. :)
I love you lots! Have a good week! And next week my P-day will be Tuesday. :)
