Thank you so much family for the package and letters! They came on a day that I really needed them. I love letters, just saying.
Also, happy birthday to Kenna this week! I cannot believe that the sister I left was 12 years old and the one I have when I get home will be 14! Weird.
This week was a long one, but good! We were able to go to the temple to do baptisms with a recent convert in our ward and I am so grateful I got to go to the temple two weeks in a row. :) The temple is not something we should ever take for granted. It was also really cool to walk in the temple and be tackled by Hna. Gomez, one of my favorite members from Miami Lakes!
This week was also Valentine's day, which is cool I guess, but Larry had us over for dinner and bought us a rose and made homemade lemonade, so it was basically the greatest day ever.
This week we met Bennie while knocking doors. We OYM'd him and ended up giving him a chapel card and continuing on. As we were walking down from another door he waved us down and asked what made us different from other Christians. We taught him the restoration and he was soooo excited and eager to learn more. He was studying to be a Christian Pastor until he read the Qu'ran and really felt like it was inspired...so he told his congregation that he couldn't come back and started studying Islam. We've had some really, really cool discussions with him!
The thought I have pondered all week is D&C 138 when it contrasts the ministry of Christ on Earth with his ministry following his resurrection. I'm pretty sure every week I either talk about love or agency so we can see what the themes of my mission have been...haha. For real though, study that chapter! it is a good one!
Transfers are tomorrow and Sister Morrow is leaving to Pines. :( :( :( But I am excited to stay in Port St. Lucie for another transfer and I will have Sis. Gailey as my new companion so I'm pretty pumped for this 7 week transfer.
I hope you all have a great week and know how much I love you.
Love,
Sister Bren Scadden
